1. Do I have to sign up for a year?
Absolutely not! Membership is month-to-month with dues collected by automatic withdrawal from your personal account of choice. Simply give notice at the Member Services Desk by the 20th of the previous month if you need to discontinue your membership.
2. Do you have “pool only” or “group exercise only” memberships?
We offer a variety of membership types including medically integrated memberships for those transitioning into independent exercise following physical therapy, surgery or other medical care. However, every membership includes full access to all Center facilities and classes.
3. Do you provide child care?
FitKids Child Care is superb on-site care for members children ages 6 weeks through 8 years of age. Children enrolled in FitKids stay safe, engaged and happy for up to 2 hours per day while Mom and Dad work out and de-stress throughout the Center to bring their best selves back home to the family. There is a modest monthly fee for FitKids care.
4. How many pools do you have?
We have an Olympic-sized lap pool, a warm water therapy pool, and there is a whirlpool in each locker room. We use a saline filtration system for cleaning and maintenance of an exceptionally clean, healthy, pleasant pool environment.

6. Can my spouse and kids come work out with me sometimes?
You must be at least 15 years old to be a member of Avera McKennan Fitness Center. If you are at least 18 years old and are interested in becoming a member, please be our guest for a tour and complimentary workout – or two, or three!
Persons aged 15 through 17 may use complimentary guest passes to investigate membership only when accompanied by a parent.
Family Swim & Gym is a member service available for members to enjoy the lap pool and basketball court with their own children or grandchildren on Friday evenings and – during the school year – on Sunday afternoons for a couple of hours.
Members may purchase Junior Personal Training sessions for their children ages 10 through 14 prior to membership age; when attending these training sessions, Center access is limited to time spent only with a Personal Trainer.
6. Is there someone there who can help me when I have questions about equipment or exercises or anything else?
You are the reason that we are here. Our Fitness Specialists are best thing about our Center. They are degreed and certified and prepared to guide you to All of our staff Team Members are not only dedicated to maintaining their own daily health and fitness routines, but also to supporting you in your quest for a healthy lifestyle for nurturing body, mind and spirit.
8. Can I use the Center on a time-by-time basis?
The day-use fee of $13 per person gives you access to the Center, its equipment, facilities, locker rooms with amenities and spas and group exercise classes all day. You can purchase a 6-visit nonmember punch card for $65 or a 12-visit card for $130. There is no expiration date on the nonmember punchcards.
9. What are your hours?
Monday through Thursday: 5:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Friday: 5:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday: 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
