As always, we appreciate your support and loyalty to the Avera McKennan Fitness Center. In our continuing efforts to provide a safe fitness center environment, we will join the Avera Health System by supporting the Mask Up South Dakota initiative.
Effective Monday, November 9th, masks will be required in all common areas of the fitness center to include the locker rooms. Masks may only be removed when actively exercising, drinking water, or showering. Please note that social distancing, whether wearing a mask or not, is still required. Additionally, we will implement a reservation system located in the locker room for the whirlpool, steam room, and dry sauna to help maintain social distancing and demonstrate our adherence and support of the mask up initiative.
Recently, the number of active cases, hospitalizations and deaths have increased across our state. We support keeping South Dakota open, and the safest way is to practice social distancing, good hygiene and wearing masks. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has affirmed that wearing masks can help communities slow the spread of COVID-19 when worn consistently and correctly in public settings and, as a medically certified facility, we support the health and well-being of our members and appreciate your support!
